ClearStone / The Firm
A small firm with a specific conviction.
ClearStone exists because something genuinely changed. Building software stopped being the exclusive province of software companies, and most professionals have not yet noticed what that makes possible.
Independent. Senior. Deliberately small.
The story
Why this practice exists.
AI development tools crossed a threshold. In careful hands, Claude Code, Codex, Lovable, and their kin now produce real, production-grade software from precise professional intent. Not toys. Not demos. Systems that do work.
What has not caught up is the profession around them. The market offers hype on one side and engineering culture on the other, and very little for the accomplished professional who simply wants their expertise to become working software.
ClearStone was built for that person. The Library gives away the fundamentals. Programs teach the method in structured form. Coaching applies it privately. The Studio builds alongside, for those who would rather commission than construct. One practice, four doors, a single standard: working software, held by the person who needed it.
Principles
The standards we keep.
01
We practice what we teach
The Studio ships client work with the same instruments the programs teach. The teaching stays honest because the practice keeps score.
02
Small by design
Limited seats, limited engagements, no leverage-by-headcount. Scale would cost the thing clients actually pay for: attention.
03
Candor over comfort
If a project should not be built, or a program is not the right fit, we say so early. A practice survives on trust, not on invoices.
04
Discretion by default
Clients, projects, and details stay private unless a client decides otherwise. It is remarkable how much easier honesty is under those terms.

The founder
Stan Sedberry
Founder, ClearStone
ClearStone is led by Stan Sedberry, a technical founder and operator who builds AI systems, workflow automations, and software products. The practice grew out of years of building with these tools directly, and out of watching capable professionals get talked past by an industry that assumed they could not build.
